When will schools be closed for Christmas and when they open again

We are going through the penultimate month of the year and we are slowly on our way to their vacation, during which, during which, they close them, enabling them to enjoy school rest days. Schools will stay open until Monday (23.12.2024), while students of all grades are usually taking a few hours class and then participating in events within the school units for Christmas, which this year fall Wednesday. Under the legislation in force, schools will remain closed from 24.12.2024 to 7.1.2025, so students will return to their desks and obligations on Wednesday (8.125), after the celebration of the Holy Theophanies (6.1.25). What the Education Ministry decision says In the relevant ministerial decision setting out what applies to holidays, holidays and celebrations, the following are stated: 1. Teaching courses are not conducted and examinations are not conducted during the following periods of the school year: (b) Easter holidays, from the Great Monday to the Sunday of Thomas. (c) Summer holidays, from 1 July to 31 August, subject to paragraph 9 of Article 1. 2. During the summer holidays of each Gymnasium, GE. L., PSC. L, H.A.E. High School, H.A.E.E.G.-L and E.E. E.K. accept the public one (1) day per week, designated by the relevant Director/Student and communicated to the school’s bulletin board and externally to a visible point. On that day, at least one/one of the teachers of each school, appointed by a decision of the Association of Teachers/Students before the end of the teaching year, shall be responsible for the completion of each current service subject, exercising special responsibilities of Director/Drias School and shall sign instead any document or title. If more than one teacher/student is employed, these responsibilities shall be exercised by the higher authority to the extent and evenly the oldest. If the day set coincides with a holiday day, the school unit shall accept the public the following working day. 3. For Gymnasium, G.E.L., PSC. L.A. High School. E, H.A.E. High School, EN.E.G.-L and E.E. E.K. The provisions of Law 1157/1981 apply (A’ 126) establishing a five-day working week. 4. Holiday days of the above are defined: (a) all Sundays, (b) the religious feast of the Holy Spirit, (c) the national holidays of 28 October and 25 March, (d) the Net Monday, (e) the 1st May, (f) the days of holiday for the seat of each school due to a local national or religious holiday. 4A. On 30 January, a celebration day of the Three Hierarchs takes place, the duration of which is defined by a relevant circular of the L.A.P.T.A. and otherwise the timetable for the course is unchanged. If January 30 is Saturday or Sunday, the festivities take place last Friday. 5. Private schools are allowed, after notification to the relevant Director/Director of Secondary Education, to be late up to two (2) additional days per year, on dates related to their history and school tradition or, in the case of foreign schools of the resident, which are an official national or religious holiday in their country of origin. 6. On the eve of the national anniversarys of 28 October and 25 March, and on the anniversary of 17 November, they take place in Gymnasium, the GE. L, in the PSC. L, H.A.E. High School, H.A.E. High School, EN.E. Hey. Y-L and E.E. E.K. Celebratory anniversary events and events in the school area or in another suitable place by decision of the Association of Teachers/Students. If this day coincides with a Saturday or a holiday, the events shall take place on its previous holiday (c) from 1 July to 31 August, subject to paragraph 9 of Article 1
