When schools open after summer – When are the next holidays

Time counts in reverse for the start of the new , as on 11 September 2024, which falls day Wednesday, are to open the whole country. Sanctification in schools for the new school year will take place on the morning of the same day and the very next day the students will return to their obligations after receiving their books. For teachers and teachers, the school year starts a few days earlier and specifically Monday, September 2, since they must complete all the necessary procedures. The operation of the digital school begins – What is the role of parents At the same time, the operation of the digital school begins next September. Digital School – is an integrated digital portal of school education for students, teachers and parents funded by the Recovery and Durability Fund (TAA). Progressively it will include educational services for students, teachers and parents, services related to professional careers such as vocational training, qualification certification, etc. but also rich educational material such as books, publications and periodicals in digital form, digital educational material deposits etc. The aim is for Digital School to be a powerful tool for the entire school community and to contribute to maximising educational opportunities for our students in every corner of the country. The pilot implementation of the Digital School starts this year. The first services include: 1) Digital Guard for classes from 1st Primary to 3rd High School – streaming.digitalschool.gov.gr The Digital Observatory is a digital platform that includes the full content of the courses taught in schools. This is a short video in the form of episodes by experienced educators. The first available videos relate to the courses of Language and Mathematics for all classes of the High School, while all the material will soon be available for all classes of Elementary, High School and High School for all classes of the school timetable. 2) Digital Observatory for 3rd High School – Live courses for nationwide courses (from September 2024) – streaming.digitalschool.gov.gr For the nationwide courses of the third grade will be offered live courses which will be available for later use. It concerns all the courses under examination, including courses such as a project. In digital teaching, which will take place during the afternoon hours, there will be a possibility for students to interact with the teacher in real time, while courses will include tests and evaluation. 3) Orders for remote areas (since September 2024) For the first time, the educational needs of students in remote island and mountain areas where the conditions for establishing a school are not met (e.g. Gavdos). The creation of classes for remote areas includes the physical presence of at least three teachers specialities (philologists, mathematicians, physical sciences or computerians) and at the same time a live digital teaching of courses within school hours not covered by the specialties available in the area. Supervision and guidance will be exercised by a school of the relevant Directorate of Education. 4) Digital application for parents – eparents – app.digitalschool.gov.gr An app – app that offers an open communication channel between parents – guardians and school in real time. Through the application there is the possibility for: Information on announcements and notifications Online information on student ratings and absenteeships Consulting services – meeting planning * Online communication via video call * Attendance of school/class/student calendar * *The functions will be available in later version 5) Interactive Learning Systems It has been supplied and delivered and gradually installed 36,264 interactive systems, in primary and secondary, general and vocational education schools. The program concerns classes V’ and F’ Elementary, High School and High School. So far 20,509 interactive systems have already been delivered and installed. The project will be completed within 2024. 6) Material of interactive tables to enrich the course (since September 2024) The creation of 15,000 digital learning objects, 4,000 digital educational scenarios and 4,000 digital courses is envisaged, while a coherent framework with open-ended educational resources with built-in artificial intelligence is formed. It changes the time when students leave All Day Primary Schools Please note that following a decision by the Deputy Minister of Education, Zettas Makris last March (3.03. 24), changes the time when students leave All Day Primary Schools. The departure of the students of the Primary School attending the program of the upgraded Full-day Primary School will take place at 15:50, at the end of the second teaching time of the 2nd zone, or at 17:30, at the end of the program. Moreover, it is possible to leave at 14:55, at the end of the 1st teaching time of the 2nd zone. What applies to the operation of kindergartens Department of Morning Reception: it operates 7.45-8. 30, with a turnout time of 7.45-8. Breakfast Required Department: 8.30-13. 00, with turnout time 8.15-8.30 and departure time 13.00. Optional afternoon Full day section: 13.00-16. 00, leaving time 16.00. Upgraded optional Program of the Full Day Kindergarten: 16.00-17.30, at departure time 17.30. According to the Ministry of Education, holidays in schools are defined as follows: Summer holidays, from July 1st to August 31st, Christmas holidays from December 24th to January 7th, Easter holidays, from Good Monday to Sunday of Thomas. Of course, students and teachers are already looking for the rest of the holidays of this year. October: Anniversary of “No” (Monday 28 October) December: Christmas (Wednesday 25 December), second day of Christmas (Thursday 26 December).
