The Eurostat announced that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the eurozone grew in the second quarter by 0.3% on a quarterly basis and by 1.6% on an annual basis, confirming the initial estimates announced in late July. The figures matched the average estimate of economists in a survey of Reuters.
In the first quarter, the GDP of the eurozone rose by 0.6% on a monthly basis and by 1.7% on an annual basis.
The GDP of the European Union rose in the second quarter by 0.4% on a quarterly basis and by 1.8% on an annual basis.
