Was it audacity or confidence? Whatever the 37-year-old was feeling when he showed up at the Helioupolis police station as required by court order, he clearly wasn’t counting on being caught. According to authorities, on July 2nd, 2025, the man visited the local precinct to comply with a judicial requirement that he report there every first five days of the month. Upon entering the building, police officers from the department and members of the DIAS patrol unit conducted a search and discovered an arsenal on his person: a modified starter pistol converted into a real firearm, a magazine containing four cartridges, a suppressor, a digital precision scale, and cash totaling 2,800 euros, 200 U.S. dollars, 1,000 Chilean pesos, and 40 British pounds. Officers later searched his home, where they found additional items including 13 cartridges, three casings, a small quantity of cocaine, and another 1,046 euros. As noted by Greek police, the suspect has a prior criminal record involving various offenses. He was arrested and faces charges related to Greece’s weapons and narcotics laws.
