In Thisio, with the backdrop of the Acropolis, will welcome the… the municipality of Athens in 2016. In the pedestrian zone of Apostolou Pavlou and Herakleidon Thursday 31st of December we can kiss the 2015, with a celebration of music and dance that will start at 22.30 and will peak at 01.00 new year.
The program of the evening is formed in three parts, different from each other, in order to cover all the options and moods, but at the same time, interrelated and continuous. In two scenes, one short and one long, viewers will be able to enjoy the entire program, with a continuous flow of music and dance, with bands and artists that will be rotated, and will “converse” with each other and with the public.
The evening starts at 22.30 on the big stage with Sugahspank! & The Swing Shoes Athens together with dancers of the Athens Swing Cats. Bands, Swing and couples dance with breathtaking moves of the Lindy hop, authentic jazz of the Interwar period and the Burlesque, invite the public to accompany them to the bitter end.
The baton gets at 23.05 in the small tent the favorite songwriter of the new Greek scene, Panos lord of the rings, which continues μεχιουμοÏιστικÎÏ‚ remakes of foreign songs rock, swing that marked him and loved Greek songs in completely new versions.
On the big stage against the backdrop of the illuminated Acropolis, at 23.45, the Symphony Orchestra of the municipality of Athens, under the direction of Maestro ΑνδÏÎαΤσελίκα gives the rate of change of time with christmas songs.
A few minutes before midnight, the mayor of Athens Giorgos Kaminis will pick up the baton for the reception of the new year. Fireworks light up the athenian sky and the celebration continues.
Filippos Pliatsikas has been collaborating with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality and comes to continue the best way to this on the first night of 2016 performing favorite tunes. When the rock meets classical music, then the sound changes and becomes dynamic, eccentric, and romantic melodic. With separate dynamics and with totally different music timbre, the classical instruments, spread sounds that evoke emotion, in a new orchestration by Theodore Καλαντζάκου.
The unique and much loved charlie sheen presents the night and joins with his unique way of the music and the participants.
