The weather is set to change again starting Thursday, March 27th, as two low-pressure systems are expected to bring snow to several regions of the country, according to meteorologist George Tsatrakyllis. The African dust phenomenon will subside as the weather scene remains similar until early April. Rain and snow will primarily affect Western and Northern Greece, as well as the Eastern Aegean. However, as noted by the meteorologist on social media, “the cold won’t be extreme with temperatures staying close to 20 degrees Celsius.” At least two low-pressure systems from Thursday, March 27th, until early April will bring significant rainfall and mountain snow across the country. The areas most affected will be Western Greece, the North, and the Eastern Aegean (weather pattern type ‘P’). From Thursday, the African dust will start to clear. Predominant winds until the end of the month will be westerly with speeds not exceeding 6 Beaufort. Meanwhile, Athens continues to be engulfed in African dust, with conditions particularly intense today. A video capturing the hazy landscape of the capital due to the dust has gone viral. According to the National Observatory of Athens, today expects many clouds and increased concentrations of African dust, along with occasional showers in Epirus and Macedonia.
