Temperatures across Greece are on a steady rise, reaching up to 37°C today (30 June 2026), according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY). While skies will remain mostly clear nationwide, isolated thunderstorms and brief showers are expected in several inland areas — particularly over Epirus, western and central Macedonia, and the mountainous regions of western Central Greece and western Peloponnese.

Regional Outlook

Attica

The weather will be generally clear. Winds will blow from the north-northeast at 4–5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 Beaufort in eastern areas before gradually easing. Temperatures will range from 24°C to 36°C — slightly cooler by 2–3°C in the east.

Thessaloniki

Skies will be mostly clear, with occasional short-lived cloud cover during midday and afternoon hours. Localized showers are possible, and isolated thunderstorms may develop over nearby mountainous terrain. Winds will be variable at 3 Beaufort early on, shifting to northwesterly at 4–5 Beaufort by evening. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 36°C.

Macedonia & Thrace

In Thrace, conditions will remain largely sunny, with only brief cloud cover in the afternoon. In Macedonia, increasing cloudiness during midday may bring scattered showers — especially across western and central parts — along with isolated thunderstorms. These phenomena will gradually subside by evening. Winds will come from northern directions at 3–5 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 36°C, reaching up to 37°C in central Macedonia. Western Macedonia will be 2–3°C cooler.

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece & Western Peloponnese

Mostly clear skies are expected, with brief cloud development during midday and afternoon. Localized showers will occur mainly over inland areas, while isolated thunderstorms are forecast for Epirus and the mountainous zones of western Central Greece and western Peloponnese. Winds will be northerly at 3–5 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 36°C — slightly lower by 2–3°C in the interior of Epirus.

Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, Evia & Eastern Peloponnese

Conditions will be generally sunny, with limited cloud cover initially in Thessaly and later over mountainous areas of central and eastern Peloponnese during midday and afternoon. Scattered showers are possible in those elevated zones. Winds will blow from northern directions — and from the west in southern areas — at 4–5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 Beaufort in eastern regions until late afternoon. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 36°C, peaking at 37°C in some inland locations.

Cyclades & Crete

Sunny conditions will dominate. A few passing clouds may appear over Crete’s mountains during midday and afternoon, but no precipitation is expected. Winds will be northerly at 3–5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.
