in

The African dust will once again blanket the entire country today, Sunday, March 16th, bringing summer-like temperatures. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), weather conditions favor the transport of African dust across the country, causing locally restricted visibility in the morning. Meanwhile, skies will be partly cloudy with occasional dense clouds in the northwestern regions and Macedonia, where isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and evening. Winds will blow from southern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort, reaching up to 7 Beaufort locally in the Aegean. By midday, winds will gradually shift to westerly and northwesterly directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort. Despite slight drops in temperature in western and northern areas, overall highs will remain unusually warm for this time of year. Temperatures could reach 23-24°C in the west and north, 25-26°C elsewhere, and 28-30°C in northern Crete. In Attica, expect generally clear skies with light winds turning to northwest by late afternoon, and temperatures ranging from 13°C to 26°C.
