Weather Today: Storms in Thessaloniki and Ionian – African Dust and 23°C in Crete

African dust is set to enter the country early this year, with reports indicating its presence as early as today (11.03.2025) in the west and south regions. Meanwhile, severe storms are expected in other areas. According to the National Meteorological Service’s forecast, Attica will remain clear with temperatures reaching up to 21°C. In western regions, there will be intermittent cloudiness with localized showers and isolated thunderstorms in some northern areas. The winds will blow from southern directions at 4-6 Beaufort, with gusts up to 8 Beaufort in the seas. Temperatures will remain high for the season, reaching up to 23°C in Crete. Visibility may be locally restricted in the western continental areas in the morning. African dust transport is favored mainly in the west and south. Specific regional forecasts include stormy conditions in Thessaloniki and scattered showers across Macedonia and Thrace.
