Weather Today: Rain and Strong Storms Across the Country

Rain and storms are expected today, Saturday, April 26th, across the entire country, with winds reaching up to five Beaufort according to the National Meteorological Service. Specifically, the bulletin states that the weather today will feature localized showers and storms initially in the northern and central continental regions, spreading to the rest of the mainland and Crete by noon or the afternoon. Winds will be variable and light in the south, but westerly winds at 4-5 Beaufort are anticipated. Temperatures will remain relatively stable, reaching 19-22 degrees Celsius in most areas. In Attica, there will be partly cloudy skies with local showers and storms, potentially strong in places. Thessaloniki and other regions like Macedonia and Thrace will experience increased cloudiness with local showers and sporadic storms, especially in the afternoon. The Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and Western Peloponnese will have clouds with local showers and scattered storms, mainly in the afternoon. Eastern Sterea, Evia, and Eastern Peloponnese will see partly cloudy skies turning into local showers and storms, which could be temporarily strong. The Cyclades and Crete will have local clouds with temporary showers, while the islands of the Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese will experience only brief clouds.
