Weather: Strong Phenomena in Peloponnese and Attica on Saturday – Improvement Expected on Sunday

Heavy rains struck central and southern continental areas on Saturday (June 21, 2025), with particularly strong weather phenomena observed in Attica and the Peloponnese. According to data recorded by the European Meteorological Satellite Meteosat-10 and processed by the National Observatory of Athens / Meteo.gr, storm clouds reached heights exceeding 10 kilometers. The highest rainfall was recorded at Agios Kosmas in Attica, with approximately 57 mm falling within an hour. On Sunday, June 22, conditions are expected to improve with mostly clear skies across Greece, though scattered showers may occur in parts of Macedonia, Thessaly, and the Ionian islands. Winds will be variable, and temperatures will slightly decrease, ranging from 30-31°C inland to 26-28°C along coastal areas.
