Cloudy skies and African dust are here to stay. On Tuesday, as we celebrate the 1821 Revolution, the weather will be dull across the country, while African dust will persist for another day in moderate concentrations, especially in western Greece, resulting in muddy showers wherever rain occurs. Generally, according to meteorologist Christina Rigo of MEGA, the weather on March 25th will be rainy in many parts of the country, mainly in western and northern Greece. In the morning, it will rain on the Ionian islands, in Epirus, temporarily in Thessaly, and in the northwest regions of Larissa, Karditsa, and Trikala, as well as in Macedonia, and by noon also in Thrace. Thus, cities like Thessaloniki, Larissa, and Ioannina may experience some drizzle or light local showers in the morning. In Corfu and Lefkada, there may be occasional showers during the morning hours, but on the island of the Phaeacians, showers are more likely in the morning and could result in some isolated thunderstorms. The rest of the country will see parades without rain, only with clouds and dust. Temperatures will be high for the season, reaching up to 23 degrees Celsius at noon in inland areas. In Crete, maximum temperatures will approach 27 degrees Celsius. Strong southerly winds up to 6 Beaufort in the Aegean and up to 7 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea are expected. According to Christina Rigo, in Attica, the day will be cloudy with dense cloud cover and a slight chance of light drizzle in the evening. Temperatures will range from 13 to 22 degrees, with southerly winds at 2-4 Beaufort. Weak local showers and increased cloudiness are forecasted for Thessaloniki. Temperatures will range from 11 to 20 degrees, with southerly winds at 3-4, occasionally 5 Beaufort. On Wednesday (March 26, 2025), the weather will follow a similar pattern, with clouds across the country and muddy showers continuing due to African dust. Mainly light rains will occur in the west, central, and northern regions, and there may be local showers in the Peloponnese and eastern Sterea. By Thursday (March 27, 2025), showers and thunderstorms are predicted throughout western Greece, while less intense phenomena will occur in the remaining continental and Aegean areas. By evening, they will move eastward and weaken. Temperatures will drop in the west, reaching 19 degrees at noon, and remain high in other areas, near 21-24 degrees and up to 26 in Crete.
