in

The autumn-like weather continues, as rains and storms are expected to dominate over the next 48 hours. However, starting from Friday, a new wave of African dust is anticipated to arrive. According to the weather forecast by meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrakyllis, this new episode of African dust will appear in our country from Friday and will primarily affect central and southern Greece. Meanwhile, warmer temperatures are forecasted only in the southern parts of the country, with northern Crete expected to exceed 32-33 degrees Celsius again. For today, Wednesday (May 14, 2025), scattered clouds with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected in central Macedonia, eastern Macedonia, Thessaly, and the Sporades islands. Improvement is expected in the afternoon. In the rest of the country, the weather will generally be clear with few clouds that may increase during the midday and afternoon hours, especially in the mountainous areas of Crete, causing localized rainfall or isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains. Visibility may be locally restricted in western continental areas during the morning. Winds will blow from northern directions, at force 3-4 in the west, 4-5 in the east, and up to 6 Beaufort locally in the eastern Aegean. Temperatures will not show significant changes, reaching 19-20°C in the north, 21-23°C in the remaining areas, and up to 24°C in some western and southern parts of Crete. The outlook for the coming days indicates scattered clouds thickening in the west by the afternoon, with local showers affecting the Ionian Sea and mainland, particularly in the mountains. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the west during the evening, spreading eastward overnight to affect eastern mainland, Evia, the Cyclades, and Crete. Winds will shift gradually throughout the period, and temperatures will slightly rise but remain stable overall.
