The warmest summer and the hottest winter was experienced in 2024, according to the data of Meteoro, the weather service of the National Observatory of Athens. According to Meteoro, the competent service of the National Observatory of Athens, the most notable weather data for Greece the year it left are as follows: ADVERSE * The highest temperature of the year was 44.5 degrees Celsius and was recorded in Vukolia, Chania, on 13 June 2024. * The lowest temperature of the year (excluding ski resorts and dolinas) occurred in the New Caucasus of Florina, on 22 January 2024 and was -19.8 degrees Celsius * The lowest temperature was recorded in the Drine Vathystalou Parnassos on 12 January 2024 and was -23.2 degrees Celsius ADVERSE * The largest daily rain height of the year occurred on 1 December in Simonopetra Athos and was 435 mm * 2160 mm was the annual rain height in Askyfu Chania. * The winter of 2023 – 2024 was the hottest in the country’s history. * In the summer of 2024 it was the hottest in the country’s history. * 31 weather events with significant social and economic consequences occurred in 2023, a figure above the average of 2000-2024. * 9 human losses within 2024, less than the average in 2000-2024. What meteo/gr stations recorded every month of 2024 -January was a warm month with positive temperature deviations from normal values in all the country’s geographical departments. -February was a very warm month with significant positive temperature deviations from normal prices in all the country’s geographical departments. March was a month with temperatures higher than normal. April was a very hot month with significant positive temperature deviations from normal prices in all the country’s geographical departments. May was a month with temperatures below normal prices, with lots of rains across the country. June was a very hot month with significant positive temperature deviations from normal prices in all the country’s geographical departments. It is noted that the highest temperatures throughout the year in many regions of the country occurred in June. – July was a very warm month with very significant positive temperature deviations from normal prices in all the country’s geographical departments. From 8 to 23 July there was the greatest during a heat wave ever recorded in the country. August was a month with temperatures above normal prices, while the number of days with strong meltemi in the Aegean was very close to normal prices. September was a month with temperatures close to normal prices. October was a very hot month with very significant positive temperature deviations from normal prices in all the country’s geographical departments. It was also a month with minimal rainfall. – November was a month with negative temperature deviations from normal values in all geographical departments of the country. December was a month with temperatures slightly above normal prices, with lots of rains across the country. In many areas in December 30% of the total annual rain fell.
