Over the next 48 hours, Greece will experience a mix of rain and hail, with significant temperature drops. The National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued an urgent weather warning indicating that at least five regions will be affected by rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the coming hours. According to the alert, weather changes are expected from Friday afternoon in northern Greece, while on Saturday, intense storms are forecasted in southern areas, accompanied temporarily by hail showers. Strong rains and storms are anticipated in Macedonia from Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning, except for central Macedonia (mainly Chalkidiki), where severe conditions may persist until Saturday noon. The Sporades islands will see storms early Saturday morning through early afternoon, while Sterea and Peloponnese will experience stormy conditions from midday Saturday until early evening. Epirus is expected to face storms in the afternoon on Saturday. However, in the following days, temperatures are set to rise again due to the arrival of hot air masses from Africa, potentially bringing the first heatwave of summer.
