The weather forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday (07.05.2024), is set to be a mixed bag across Greece. While some areas will experience clouds, rain, and even isolated thunderstorms, others will get an early taste of the summer heatwave. According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), increased cloudiness with local showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected in eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The rest of the country will see sporadic cloud cover with occasional heavy rainfall, particularly in mountainous regions. Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust, mainly affecting the Peloponnese, Cyclades, and Crete. Temperatures will remain high for this time of year, reaching up to 26-28°C in most areas and locally up to 31-33°C in northern Crete. Winds in the west will vary between 3-4 Beaufort, while in the east, southerly winds will blow at 4-6 Beaufort, with localized gusts up to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean. Detailed forecasts for specific regions include Attica with generally clear skies and light winds, Thessaloniki with possible showers in nearby mountains, and more intense weather in Macedonia-Thrace, where thunderstorms are likely. Ionian Islands, Epirus, and western Sterea Ellada can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, while eastern Sterea Ellada, Evia, and eastern Peloponnese will have light winds but higher temperatures. In the Cyclades and Crete, there’s a chance of localized rain in mountainous areas, and similar conditions are predicted for the Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands.
