Weather Forecast: Slight Temperature Rise and Strong Winds – Snow Only in Cretan Mountains

An improvement is expected tomorrow, Thursday (20.03.25), across most regions of the country, with any snowfall restricted to the mountains of Crete and a slight temperature rise noted. According to the weather forecast from the National Meteorological Service (EMY), temperatures will see an increase in maximum values, reaching 14-15°C in most areas and locally up to 16°C in the west, southern Crete, and the Dodecanese islands. Frost will occur inland during the morning and evening hours. Winds in the west will be variable at 2-3 Beaufort and shift to northwesterly winds at 3-4 Beaufort by afternoon. In the east, winds will blow from northern directions at 3-5 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea at 6-8 Beaufort, gradually weakening. Specifically, Attica will experience generally clear skies with occasional clouds in the afternoon, with northerly winds at 4-5 Beaufort and eastern winds at 6 Beaufort, gradually weakening after midday. Temperatures will range from 3°C to 15°C. Thessaloniki will also see mostly clear skies with variable winds at 2-3 Beaufort and temperatures ranging from 3°C to 14°C. Macedonia and Thrace will have generally clear conditions with some temporary clouds over Thrace, with variable winds at 2-3 Beaufort and northerly winds at 3-4 Beaufort in Thrace. Temperatures will range from -4°C to 14-15°C. Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and Western Peloponnese will experience generally clear skies with variable winds at 2-3 Beaufort and northwesterly winds at 3-4 Beaufort in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 4°C to 16°C. Eastern Sterea and Eastern Peloponnese will have nearly clear skies with northerly and northeast winds at 4-5 Beaufort and stronger winds in the east at 6 Beaufort, gradually weakening by midday. Temperatures will range from 3°C to 15°C. Cyclades and Crete will see increased cloud cover with local rain showers in Crete, where light snowfall is expected in the mountains. Northerly winds will reach 7-8 Beaufort, gradually weakening after midday. Temperatures will range from 7°C to 14-15°C, and locally up to 16°C in southern Crete. The Eastern Aegean Islands and Dodecanese will have few clouds, with temporary increases and generally clear skies by afternoon. Winds will blow from northern directions at 5-6 Beaufort and up to 7-8 Beaufort in the south. Temperatures will range from 7°C to 15°C and locally up to 16°C in the south. Thessaly will experience generally clear skies with variable winds at 2-3 Beaufort and northerly/northeast winds at 4 Beaufort and temporarily up to 5 Beaufort in the Sporades before midday.
