Weather Forecast: Rain and Thunderstorms Until Sunday – Affected Areas

From today (May 30, 2025) until Sunday, the weather will be unstable with a drop in temperature. Summer is expected to return for good starting Monday (June 2, 2025), as the weather will improve after the weekend. Rain and thunderstorms, some of them strong, are forecasted until then. The adverse weather conditions will affect Epirus (mainly central and northern areas), eastern and southern coastal regions (from Friday to Saturday), and the islands (Crete, Cyclades, Dodecanese). By Sunday afternoon, the weather will start improving, and by Monday, summer will return with rising temperatures. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service, on Saturday, rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected in several parts of the country, including central Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades, Evia, eastern Sterea, Peloponnese, Crete, Cyclades, and Dodecanese. For today, Friday (May 30, 2025), there will be rain and thunderstorms, which may be strong in places in Crete during the midday and afternoon. These phenomena will weaken after the afternoon. Temperatures will vary across Greece, with winds blowing from northern directions at 3-5 Beaufort scales in the Aegean Sea, while stronger gusts are possible in the Ionian Sea. Showers and local thunderstorms are also predicted for Attica, with winds at 2-4 Beaufort. On Sunday, showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur mainly in Crete until the afternoon, while the rest of the country will experience fewer clouds with occasional local rain and isolated storms in mountainous areas.
