By Friday, June 6, the mercury could soar up to 37 degrees. In certain areas such as Macedonia, Thessaly, Boeotia, and Argolis, temperatures may even hit 38 degrees on Thursday. Today, Sunday, June 1, scattered showers are expected primarily over central and northern continental regions, the Dodecanese, and Crete. These conditions are likely to expand across the country by noon. Localized rains and sporadic thunderstorms may occur during the afternoon in inland areas. Wind conditions in the Aegean will be northerly at 3-5 Beaufort scale, intensifying in parts of the northeast and southwest in the afternoon. For the upcoming days, general sunny weather is anticipated with occasional localized clouds developing in the afternoons over mountainous inland areas.
