Weather Forecast: Attica to Experience Winter Conditions Starting Tuesday Night

The weather will take on a winter-like feel with significant drops in temperature. Attica will experience this shift starting Tuesday night, with Wednesday, March 19, being the coldest day. Meteorologist Yiannis Kallianou highlighted that while thermometers soared over the weekend, with Crete recording an impressive 34°C in Sitia, the mercury is expected to plummet significantly. Temperatures could drop by 16-20°C across the country compared to the previous weekend. Notably, Florina experienced a record-breaking swing, with temperatures dropping from 28°C on Saturday to potential snowfall and temperatures not exceeding 2°C by Tuesday morning. Weather conditions are forecasted to include cold temperatures, rain, thunderstorms, and even snowfall in mountainous areas starting Tuesday. Snow is also expected in semi-mountainous regions of Northern Greece at elevations as low as 200-300 meters. In Attica, the onset of winter will be felt by Tuesday night, with snow possible in areas above 500 meters in the northern part of the region. The coldest day during this cold front will be Wednesday, March 19. Rain is expected to taper off by Wednesday morning, though it may persist in parts of the southern and southeastern Aegean. By Thursday, March 20, temperatures are projected to begin rising gradually, leading to generally good weather and milder conditions by the upcoming weekend.
