Temperatures are expected to exceed 31°C throughout the week as the forecast indicates that African dust and summer-like temperatures will persist all week. According to the weather prediction by meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas, the African dust will remain until Friday, with the highest concentrations on Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, the temperatures will stay high for this time of year. “Temperatures will reach 30 to 31°C, while locally in Northern Crete, they may surpass this mark mid-week,” stated the meteorologist. “Instability will be limited mainly in the northern regions starting from Wednesday,” he concluded. The dust is expected to linger until Friday, with peak concentrations on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will range between 30-31°C, with localized higher readings in Northern Crete. On Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, scattered showers with occasional local rains and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in the northern Ionian and Epirus, gradually extending to Thessaly, Macedonia, parts of Central Greece, and eastern Peloponnese, especially in mountainous areas. In the rest of the country, generally clear skies with sparse clouds at times denser. Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust. Winds will blow from southern directions at 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 Beaufort in the seas. Temperatures will slightly rise, particularly in central and southern regions, reaching highs of 25-27°C in northern continental areas and locally up to 28°C in southern areas. For the following days, the forecast predicts increased cloudiness with local rains and isolated thunderstorms in Macedonia and later in other northern continental areas, while the rest of the country will experience sparse clouds occasionally denser. Meteorological conditions continue to favor the transport of African dust. Winds will shift from southern to northwesterly directions, with temperatures remaining high.
