Weather: Cold invasion will hit the country from Sunday – Snow and chilly cold

For a few hours it will maintain its spring setting, as from Sunday everything changes with one coming from the Balkans. The cold invasion that will completely change the weather in our country will bring particularly low temperatures and snow even within cities. In fact, all municipalities in Northern Greece are on the lookout for bad weather. CORVERSE According to ERT meteorologist Anastasia Tyraski, since Sunday (12.01.20205) a change of weather is foreseen. Cold air masses of Arctic origin, which have already begun to descend further south, on Saturday will cover central Europe and the Balkans, reaching the outskirts of our country and, as they meet the warm and humid air masses in the Mediterranean region, will provide several rains, storms and snowstorms. These phenomena will affect Greece on Sunday and Monday, with rains almost all over the country, storms mainly in the west and the Aegean, snows in the continental mountains and also in areas with lower altitude in the north, falling temperature and stormy winds. The weather on Saturday (11.01.2025) Waves transiently increased in most of the country. Rains will occur in the west, the north, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese. Local snowfalls will occur from the evening in the mountainous regions of Macedonia and Thrace Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited. Winds will breathe western southwest 4 to 6 Beauforts and only in the northern north northeast with the same intensity. The temperature will drop slightly to the north, while it will be maintained at high levels for the time in central and south. It will reach the north at 13 to 15 degrees, in the rest of their country 16 to 18 and locally to the south at 19 degrees Celsius. The weather on Sunday (12.01.2020) Increased clouds and rains throughout the country. Sporadic storms will occur mainly in the west and from the evening in the northeast Aegean where phenomena may be locally strong. Snowfalls will occur in western Macedonia, the mountains of the rest of the northern country and from the evening to the northern semi-mountains as well as the central mountains. The winds will blow in the north northeast 5 to 6 and from noon in the north Aegean 7 to 8 Beauforts and the rest from southern addresses 4 to 6 Beauforts. The temperature will drop in northern and central Greece of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. The weather on Monday (13.01.2020) Increased clouds with rains all over the country. Sporadic storms will occur in the Ionian Sea, temporary on the eastern mainland and the northeastern Aegean. Snowfalls will occur on the mainland and in the northern semi-mountains. Winds will blow to the west and south south southeast 5 to 7 Beauforts, while to the east and north north northeast 6 to 8 Beauforts. The temperature will drop further. Weather on Tuesday (14.01.2025) To the west a few clouding temporary in the morning increased. In the rest of the clouds with local rains and in the southern sea isolated storms, while snowfalls will occur in the morning hours on the mountains of the eastern mainland and in the northern half-mounted. Gradual improvement is expected from noon. The winds will blow east northeast 4 to 6 and on the seas local 7 to 8 Beauforts. The temperature in central and north will range at levels a little lower than normal, while in the rest of the country it will not change significantly. During the morning and evening hours there will be frost in the north.
