Weather Alert: Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms Expected Until Wednesday

April is set to make its presence felt with heavy rains and thunderstorms, as a new weather system impacting Greece from today, Monday (31.03.25), is expected to last until next Wednesday. The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) updated the Emergency Weather Warning at 11:30 this morning for hazardous weather conditions, warning of localized heavy rains and thunderstorms from midday through to Wednesday morning in most areas of eastern Greece. Specifically, EMY has issued warnings for dangerous weather phenomena in the following regions: A. Cyclades from Monday afternoon (31-03-25) to Tuesday midday (01-04-25), with local conditions potentially reaching dangerous levels – Red Alert – until early Tuesday morning. B. Islands of the Eastern Aegean (mainly Samos, Ikaria, and Chios) from Monday evening (31-03-25) to Tuesday night (01-04-25). C. Eastern Sterea and Evia from Monday night (31-03-25) to Tuesday midday (01-04-25). D. Attica on Monday night (31-03-25) into Tuesday (01-04-25). E. Thessaly and Sporades from early Tuesday (01-04-25) to Tuesday evening. ST. Dodecanese from Tuesday morning (01-04-25) to Wednesday morning (02-04-25). Z. Western and southern Crete from Tuesday evening (01-04-25) to Wednesday morning (02-04-25). Residents are advised to stay informed and take precautions.
