The Independent Public Revenue Authority ( ) warns with its announcement that citizens must be particularly careful to receive a tax refund. The announcement of AADE is as follows: Over the last few days, malicious actions have intensified the sending of misleading messages sms to mobile devices (SMISHING), aimed at intercepting personal data and banking card data. We draw particular attention as misleading messages: It appears that they are sent by the ADE or some other reliable entity, such as gov.gr. They claim that the recipient is entitled to a subsidy or tax refund. They encourage link connection to a fake website. If the recipients press the link, there is a serious risk of causing security problems or catching personal or banking information. To protect them, citizens must not click or tap any links and immediately delete the message. We recall that AADE never and for any reason asks taxpayers to disclose their personal information (name, VAT, date of birth, bank accounts or passwords (Username or Password) via SMS or email. Citizens should be connected to the myADE digital portal only by the address, either through the official or using the AADE’s official digital application for myADEapp portable devices.
