“War” on drugs behind murder in Exarchia

Albanian is in jail, according to the police, the instigator of a homicide that happened in November 2013 in Exarcheia. The case was solved by the Department of Crimes against Life and Personal Liberty of the Attica Security division and victim was a 29-year-old Albanian.
The victim had been found at the intersection of Themistokleous and Κωλέττη, mortally wounded from a gun. On top of that they found a kalashnikov, a pistol and a revolver.
As ascertained, the victim and the defendant had set up criminal groups that were dealing drugs in the area of Exarcheia, and among them there was a rivalry for control of the region. The 32-year-old was arrested in 2016, accused of involvement in a criminal organisation, and violations of the legislation on narcotic drugs and the prevention and suppression of money laundering activities.
The file that was formed was submitted to the public prosecutor at first instance of Athens and the case was referred to for conducting the main interview.
