Voula: 28-Year-Old Crane Operator Dies After Electric Shock

Tragically, the 28-year-old crane operator involved in a workplace accident in Voula on Wednesday morning (March 12, 2025) did not survive. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. when the young worker attempted to lift materials for a newly restarted construction project. Suddenly, under unclear circumstances, the crane came into contact with high-voltage cables, resulting in the worker being struck by an electric current and losing consciousness. His colleagues quickly placed him in a private vehicle and rushed him to Asklepieion Voula Hospital. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, the 28-year-old succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. Another worker at the construction site is currently being treated in serious condition at the hospital. This tragic event highlights the importance of safety measures in construction zones.
