Migration and Asylum Minister Makis Voridis has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the OPEKEPE case via a post on X (formerly Twitter). Earlier this Thursday (19.06.2025), a written communication from the European prosecution office was forwarded to Parliament. The document, sent through the Areios Pagos Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding OPEKEPE, aims to investigate potential criminal liabilities of two former Agriculture Development ministers—Makis Voridis and Lefteris Augenakis. In response, the current Migration and Asylum Minister, through his social media post, refutes any involvement in illegal actions. He stated that he is fully aware of his actions during his tenure as Agriculture Development Minister and does not need to wait for the contents of the document to confirm his innocence. He emphasized that he has committed no illegal acts while performing his duties.
