Highly successful and with a new record were her sales in 2024. The Swedish brand, a member of the Chinese group Geely, sold 763,389 cars in 2024, i.e. +8% compared to 2023. Notable was the increase in the sales of its electric models. Volvo sold 175,194 pure electric cars, 54% increase compared to 2023, and 177,593 plug-in hybrid cars, 16% increase from 2023. In fact, sales of electric models accounted for 46% of Volvo sales for 2024, of which pure electrics had 23%, out of 16% that they had in 2023. European sales reached 369,685 cars in 2024, increasing 25% compared to 2023. Volvo’s electric model series accounted for 65% of all cars sold on the old continent by the brand. CORVERSE Volvo sales in the US for 2024 amounted to 125.243 cars, reduced by 3% compared to 2023. The number of sold electric models increased by 20% and represented 34% of all cars sold in the US in 2023. Sales in China decreased by 8% compared to 2023, with 156,370 cars in 2024. Overall, sales of electric models increased by 3% during January–December 2024. In Greece In 2024, Volvo Car Hellas made total sales of 2,240 units, which together with its respective performance of 2023, are the two best performances of the last 15 years. Altimetic growth, with +211.9%, showed the sales of pure electric Volvo on the Greek market. The 1,245 units sold represent a share exceeding 55% of the total cars allocated by the company. This performance increases Volvo to second place on the market of premium electrics in Greece, with a 27% share, triple compared to the third company in the relevant ranking. In the entire Greek market for electric cars, Volvo occupies third place. Worldwide, for 2024 , Volvo XC60 was the top-selling model with 230,853 a (2023: 228,646), followed by XC40/EX40 , with total sales of 173,890 cars (2023: 200,670) and XC90 with 108,621 cars (2023: 107,549). In Greece, the “game changer” for Volvo performance is the new EX30. The impressive purely electric SUV of the Swedish company won the top of the premium “B-SUV”, detaching a 40.5% share of the entire category. This performance involves cars with engines of all types, which demonstrates how competitive and attractive Volvo’s electric proposal is. Please also note that, with 987 units, EX30 represents 44% of all Volvos sold on the Greek market in 2024.
