A car caught fire in Volos on Saturday, 11 July 2026. Firefighters rushed to the scene and intervened immediately, successfully extinguishing the flames and preventing their spread to nearby vehicles and businesses.
Fire breaks out on Chalkidonos Street
Alarm was raised around midday in the Nea Ionia district of Volos when a passenger vehicle burst into flames while travelling along Chalkidonos Street. According to thenewspaper.gr, the driver noticed the problem early enough to abandon the vehicle unharmed. Emergency services were alerted immediately.
Investigation underway
The incident caused material damage to the car. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Service’s investigative unit. Although the event caused temporary disruption in the area, there was no danger to passers-by or local residents.
