Vladimir Putin Calls for Immediate End to Israel-Iran Conflict

In a new intervention regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran, Russian President Vladimir Putin took action today (June 18, 2025). According to the Kremlin, Putin had a phone conversation with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where they agreed that it is essential to immediately put an end to the conflict between Israel and Iran. Putin reiterated Russia’s readiness to act as a mediator to help find a diplomatic solution concerning Israeli and Western concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, as stated by the Kremlin. Meanwhile, Russia’s state news agency RIA reported a statement from Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, warning that the world is “a fraction away from disaster” due to Israel’s daily strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. It should be noted that Donald Trump had previously mentioned the possibility of Putin mediating to end the Iran-Israel war, stating that the Russian president is ready to take such action.
