Virginia Giuffre, a central figure who accused American financier Jeffrey Epstein and Britain’s Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has died by suicide at the age of 41. According to a family statement, Giuffre took her own life at her home in Western Australia. The announcement stated that she was a victim of sexual exploitation and human trafficking throughout her life. In August 2021, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew for sexual assault when she was just 17 years old and had fallen prey to Epstein’s network. Prince Andrew had repeatedly denied any involvement with Epstein’s circle, who died by suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for underage sex trafficking. In March 2022, both parties reached an out-of-court settlement.
