Violent Scenes Erupt During Keravnos Himadiou vs AO Makrision Match

Disturbing images have emerged from an amateur football match in Ilia, where fans of the home team stormed the pitch and attacked players from the visiting team. The incident resulted in injuries, with three players being taken to the hospital. This tragic event occurred during the local league match between Keravnos Himadiou and AO Makrision when, following a disputed play in the 60th minute, six individuals reportedly entered the field and turned it into a violent brawl involving punches and kicks between fans and players. The match was halted by the referee, and the injured parties initially received medical attention from the match doctor before being transferred to Pyrgos General Hospital. According to the newspaper ‘Patris,’ however, the representatives of Keravnos Himadiou deny the allegations made by AO Makrision, stating that events unfolded differently. Team president Kostas Kyriakopoulos emphasized: “We unequivocally condemn the invasion of the playing field by fans. However, the events did not happen as described by the opposing team—as proven by the available video evidence we possess, which we will submit today in our defense to the Ilia Football Association. As Keravnos Himadiou, we apologize to the management and players of Makrision and fully accept responsibility. Nevertheless, we disagree with the decision to stop the game.”
