There is no end to the tricks of cunning who try to extract money in every way from old people. One pretended to be Glyxburg, his son. It all started when 74-year-old received a social media friendship request from a profile presented as “Prince Paul”. Some messages followed with the elderly believing that he was actually chatting with the son of the former King Constantine. He even persuaded him to join a club that concerns the former royal family, as ERT broadcast. According to what the stranger pretending to be Paul Glyxburg told him, the elderly would have help, but also a pension from the former royal family. In order to move forward, he would have to register in order to obtain this privileged card with which, in addition to the help he would have from the former royal family, he would have received a pension of 420 euros a month. That is why they asked the 74-year-old for a photocopy of identity, an account showing the address of his home, photos of his home and a prepaid card worth 15 euros. Eventually the elderly realized that something was wrong when his conversationalist who told him he was the “prince Paul”, asked him for more money to send him the card. The 74-year-old finally realized that he had been the victim of fraud and immediately made a complaint to the Paianian police station. It seems that other persons are involved in the fraud because the stranger posing as Paul Glyxburg had given the elderly a phone number of a woman to help him in the proceedings.
