It was December 30, 2024, when Vasilis left his family home in Larissa for a walk from which he never returned. His trail vanished, prompting a massive search operation. Finally, 50 days later, the body of the 39-year-old was found on a hill near Tyrnavos, shocking the nation amid suspicions of criminal activity. However, forensic examination attributed his death to myocardial ischemia caused by prolonged exhaustion and hypothermia. Today (July 1, 2025), Sofia Kalogirou, who served as head of the Larissa Court of Appeals Public Prosecutor’s Office, made a heartfelt Facebook post announcing her retirement.
