Vasilis Bimbikis Arrested After Causing Car Damage in Filothei

Actor Vasilis Bimbikis was arrested after allegedly causing damage to several vehicles in the upscale Athens neighborhood of Filothei in the early hours of Saturday, September 27. According to reports, Bimbikis drove his luxury Ford Raptor erratically, colliding with three parked cars and a garage door before leaving the scene. Residents alerted police, who launched a search and located him at his home and later at the theater where he works. He eventually turned himself in to authorities in Kifisia. Speaking to newsit.gr from the police station before his arrest, Bimbikis claimed he came voluntarily to give a statement, denying any prior incidents and dismissing accusations as false claims by a neighbor with personal issues. Under Greece’s new Traffic Code, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage is considered a criminal offense, punishable by fines, license suspension, and prosecution under Article 290A of the Penal Code, with penalties increasing for repeat offenses.
