A chilling video showing an amusement ride at Six Flags Over Georgia in the United States abruptly stopping 72 meters (about 236 feet) above the ground has gone viral on social media. The footage captures riders seated in their chairs, suspended motionless in mid-air.

SkyScreamer Incident Causes Panic

The incident occurred on the SkyScreamer — one of the park’s tallest attractions — when it suddenly halted during operation. According to reports, the ride stopped without warning, leaving guests stranded high above the ground and triggering fear among those aboard.

Rider Captures Moment, Voices Concern

One rider filmed the scene as the ride ceased spinning, capturing breath-taking and unsettling visuals. In the video, he attempts to calm his friend seated beside him while voicing his biggest fear: that the swing arm might detach from its height. ‘This is my last day at Six Flags,’ he said in the clip. He later added, ‘I won’t lie — I’ll never do this again.’

CBS News shared the footage on June 23, 2026, captioning it: ‘Riders were left dangling 260 feet in the air after one of the Six Flags rides suddenly stopped. A rider who was stuck took video of the park and joked it would be his “last day at Six Flags” after the experience.’
