As he reported, the police informed him that he received an email stating that “an improvised bomb had been placed in the mailbox of my home.” However, during the investigation conducted no bomb or explosives were found. Local media in Connecticut say a bomb threat was also received by Democratic Senator Chris Murphy. Capitol police did not respond to a request for commentary, Reuters news agency notes. Threats to a bomb were also accepted in previous days and Republican Party officials, including some who have been selected by U.S. elected president Donald Trump for staffing the new government.
