European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will inform member states of the European Union tomorrow, Tuesday (04.03.25), about plans to boost the European defense industry and capabilities. “Tomorrow, I will inform member states through a letter about Europe’s rearmament plan,” von der Leyen told reporters. She emphasized the need for a significant increase in defense spending. “We undoubtedly need a massive rise in defense expenditures,” she stated. Von der Leyen also highlighted, “We seek lasting peace, but it can only be built on defensive strength.” This announcement comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen the EU’s defense posture.
