In the coming days, a notification from the AADE will be sent to those who owe more than €150,000 to the tax authority or social insurance funds, which have been overdue for at least one year, according to a publication by Kathimerini. This notice essentially serves as an ultimatum for debtors to settle their debts by June 20th; otherwise, their names will be included in the blacklist of major debtors, set to be released to the public by the end of the same month. It is estimated that this year there are around 28,000 major debtors, representing just 1% of all debtors but accounting for 90% of the €160 billion in overdue debts. To avoid having their details disclosed, debtors must enroll in either a 24- or 48-month installment plan. Before the final publication of the debts, on June 5, 2025, an invitation will be sent by the AADE administration to debtors meeting the criteria for disclosure, giving them 15 days to regularize their debts—by no later than June 20, 2025. Note that this invitation will be sent via email to the debtor’s mailbox on Taxisnet, whether they owe only to the Public Revenue, only to e-EFKA, or both.
