Upcoming Holidays in 2025 and When Schools Close for Easter

Only a few weeks remain until the celebration of Easter, and students will have the opportunity to relax from their responsibilities, enjoying a total of sixteen days of vacation. In 2025, Easter falls on April 20th, so schools will be closed for Easter holidays from Holy Monday (April 14, 2025) until Thomas Sunday (April 27, 2025). The last day of classes before Easter is Friday, March 31, 2025, just before Lazarus Saturday. After the Easter break, students will return to class on Monday, April 28, 2025, to continue the school year. However, during that week, students will only have four days of lessons because of the Labor Day holiday falling on Thursday, May 1st, which offers an additional school break. Additionally, the following month, all eyes turn to the feast of Pentecost (June 9, 2025), which always falls on a Monday, creating a three-day weekend. According to the relevant ministerial decision, teaching and exams do not take place during specific periods such as Christmas breaks, Easter breaks, and summer vacations. Furthermore, schools follow certain regulations regarding holidays and festive events, ensuring students and staff receive adequate rest throughout the academic year.
