Up to 32% Discounts on High-Speed Ferry Tickets – The Conditions

Today (16/05/25), discounts of up to 32% on high-speed ferry tickets that already used green fuel were announced. These reductions in coastal ferry tickets apply to families and groups of three or more people. ‘We are very pleased today, as after committing not to increase the prices of coastal ferry tickets, there have been announcements regarding high-speed ferries and a reduction of up to 32% for Greek families and groups exceeding three people,’ stated Minister of Shipping, Vasilis Kikilias. It is reminded that due to the EU requirement for all ships to use ‘green’ fuel, which is more expensive, from May 1st, ferry companies had forecasted fare increases of 12%-15%. To control ticket prices for travelers and prevent these increases, the government reduced port fees by 50%. Thus, the goal was achieved to avoid price hikes at the beginning of the month.
