Unmanned Cargo Ship with 27 Crew Members Adrift Near Cape Maleas

A Liberian-flagged cargo ship carrying 27 crew members is drifting unmanned in the sea area, approximately 2.8 nautical miles northeast of Lakonia. According to the Port Authority, the vessel became unmanned due to a mechanical failure near Cape Maleas. The ship, which was en route from Spain to Constantinople, is currently empty. A tugboat and an accompanying vessel are on their way to assist. Winds in the area are blowing at 6 Beaufort scale.
