Unknown Professional Rights in the 2025 Panhellenic Prospectus for University Graduates

in

It is astonishing that despite the new public sector prospectus being published nearly two years ago, which outlines the typical qualifications (main, additional, or supplementary) required for appointments in every field and specialty of public sector entities and matches existing fields and specialties with new ones, there remains a vague or unclear understanding of these details. Our scientific team has meticulously dissected the entire prospectus and linked it to each university department in our best-selling book (Patakis Publications) to provide students and candidates of the Panhellenic exams with a complete picture. This representation is crucial for anyone interested, especially graduates of universities and technological educational institutes (TEIs), as it plays a catalytic role in precisely defining the positions they can claim based on their degrees. For instance, positions under the category of University Education (UE) are those for which the standard qualification for appointment or recruitment is a degree or diploma from a department or school of higher education or an academically equivalent or equal title of corresponding specialty from foreign schools. New or abolished departments, in cases of establishment, merger, or division of Schools or Departments of University Education after the publication of this document, are also considered if the studies cover the knowledge object of the required degree fully and adequately. The National Authority for Higher Education issues the relevant certification. Additionally, professional practice licenses where required (e.g., for Engineers) prohibit appointments without the necessary license or membership identity. Various departments, whether former TEIs or University departments, are included or excluded in the new prospectus, offering graduates the opportunity to pursue a career in the public and broader public sector. Even though all graduates have the right to claim a job in the public sector (with the general UE/TE Administrative category), it is significant for a department’s degree to be included in a separate UE or TE branch accordingly. Examples include Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratories, Editorial-Documents Correction, Criminology, Speech Therapy, Administrative-Economic, and many others. Each case highlights the importance of understanding the prospectus when choosing a school and planning strategically.
