An extremely intriguing case referencing past events, according to counter-terrorism officials, was uncovered on Tuesday night (June 24, 2025) in University City. Although the material found—C4 plates and green explosive substances—points to criminal activity, police estimate that the case involves members of an organization formed by a collaboration between criminals and individuals operating on the fringes of terrorism. Importantly, authorities believe the bag, discovered almost hidden behind some bushes, may contain usable fingerprints and DNA traces leading to the owners of the explosives. However, it’s estimated that the explosives are old, non-functional, and were likely abandoned at the site either out of fear following recent arrests or left temporarily with something preventing their retrieval. In the coming days, law enforcement with initial samples from forensic laboratories will provide more explanations about the case. Yesterday evening, around 5:00 PM, a woman spotted the half-hidden bag and immediately alerted the police. According to EL.AS., the area was immediately secured, and a bomb disposal team recovered three C4 plates, 567 grams of green-colored explosive material, three pieces of slow-burning fuse, and twenty .38 caliber bullets.
