Union of Judges and Advocates: Autonomes operate weekends and holidays

Notice issued today (18/01/2025) and made it clear that it operates weekends and holidays. The Association of Justices and Advocates issued the announcement after yesterday (17/01/2025) extremely urgent document by the President of the Supreme Court John Clap to the chiefs of the country’s First Courts, in which he points out that the autonomic will operate on weekends and holidays. CORVERSE In fact, he points out that they saw the light of the publicity of significant inaccuracies as to how the autonomic process operates. More specifically, the EDE Communication is as follows: “In a series of publications that saw yesterday the light of day, significant inaccuracies were included as to how the autonomic process operates in our country. Neither little nor much was it questioned that the compositions of autophores exist and function normally on Saturdays and holidays, so that the trial of auto-crimes is supposed to be difficult for this reason. We inform the “experts” journalists of the court report, that it would be sufficient to emulate their weak memory to remember that according to the Rules of the Courts – approved by the Supreme Court – compositions of self-defences judge firmly on Saturdays, that investigators and prosecutors are appointed and serve on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and that there is no way to let a person arrested for committing an auto-crime, without having a prosecutorial or judicial judgment mediated. It should be noted that the Code of Criminal Procedure expressly provides, for the possibility of not meeting the Court of Justice on the day of bringing the person arrested to the prosecutor’s office, for the same or the following day, that the possibility of the appointment of an extraordinary court for the same or the following day, resulting only in the absence of a meeting of the Court of Justice on Sunday never entailing a failure to refer the arrest to the competent court in the course of the proceedings. The judges and prosecutors who have for years been performing our duties and the days that for the rest of the citizens are a time of rest, we do not demand to receive any special praise for this, but we demand that the reality that we all experience is not distorted and that we do not become the easy means of covering failures and weaknesses of other state agencies.”
