Unilever: Sells Pureit water purification the day after announcements for redundancies in Europe

Pureit cleaning sale announced yesterday (15.07.24) the corporate giant of consumer goods, . Pureit is purchased by A.O.Smith, a leading global water technology company. Pureit offers a series of water purification solutions across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Mexico, among others. Eduardo Campanella, President of Unilever Home Care, said that “Pureit’s sale marks another milestone in our journey for the development of our portfolio towards higher development sites, according to the development action plan. Pureit provides basic water purification solutions to millions of loyal consumers and I am sure that the brand will thrive further under the ownership of A.O.Smith”. Kevin J. The transaction is subject to normal closing conditions and Unilever will continue to manage the business until the transaction is completed. The sale of Pureit by Unilever takes place in a landscape of the company’s apparent crisis as last Friday (12.02). 24) layoffs were announced for 1/3 of its administrative staff in Europe.
