Unemployment in Greece Decreased by 3.6% in March

The total number of registered unemployed individuals in the Employment Agency’s registry for March 2025 reached 926,041 people, showing a 3.6% decrease compared to February. Among these, 452,630 (48.9%) have been registered for 12 months or more, while 473,411 (51.1%) have been registered for less than 12 months. Men account for 328,576 (35.5%), and women for 597,465 (64.5%). The age group 30-44 years holds the highest number of registrants at 287,014 (31.0%). Secondary education is the most common level among registrants, with 446,439 individuals (48.2%). Attica and Central Macedonia regions recorded the highest numbers of unemployed at 278,529 (30.1%) and 174,119 (18.8%), respectively. In March 2025, the total number of beneficiaries was 167,947, including 113,305 (67.5%) common unemployed and other categories, and 54,642 (32.5%) seasonal tourism workers. Overall, there was a reduction of -50,332 (-5.2%) compared to March 2024 and -34,093 (-3.6%) from February 2025.
