Unbelievable Temperature Drop on Tuesday – Forecast by Kolidas

The summer-like weather of the weekend (March 15-16, 2025) will soon be a distant memory, as abruptly as it arrived with temperatures in the 30s. All forecast data indicates that starting Tuesday (March 18, 2025), we will experience a significant double-digit temperature drop. The weather that brought sunshine to the beaches for swims and cool breezes will now bring fluctuating conditions, as we pull out our winter coats once again with single-digit temperatures even during the day. Notably, meteorologist Theodoros Kolidas, director of EMY, highlighted the dramatic change in an Instagram post on March 16, 2025: ‘From the 28.7°C high we experienced in Florina on Saturday, we won’t exceed 3°C on Tuesday.’ This extreme example showcases an estimated average temperature drop of around 15°C across most of central and northern Greece. Such stark temperature contrasts are relatively rare but not unprecedented.
