At least three people were killed and nine others wounded in Russian missile and drone attacks on the eastern Ukrainian regions of Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Deaths and Injuries Reported

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, reported on Telegram that one person was killed and nine injured in combined artillery shelling, missile strikes, and drone attacks across three areas of the region.

In Poltava, Vitaliy Dyakivnytsia—the region’s military administrator—confirmed two fatalities. One died at the scene; the other succumbed to injuries in hospital after being evacuated following an attack late Saturday night. He also reported 13 people wounded.

Widespread Disruption

Multiple explosions were reported across Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions following strikes involving cruise and ballistic missiles. According to several Ukrainian media outlets, most of Poltava city and its surrounding region were left without electricity.

Separately, a group of Russian-made Geranium-2 loitering munitions struck an industrial facility in Kirovohrad Oblast, triggering a large fire. Another large-scale drone operation—reportedly involving more than 20 Geraniums—targeted southern Odesa Oblast overnight, with parts of the swarm hitting Izmail.
