A shocking video has emerged showing the moment a Ukrainian drone struck and killed Vladimir Leontiev, the Russian-appointed head of Nova Kakhovka. The footage captures a man exiting a vehicle, locking it, and walking toward a building when a powerful explosion from a Ukrainian ‘Baba Yaga’ drone hits, fatally injuring him. Leontiev, who had collaborated with Russian forces since the invasion began, was targeted by Ukraine for his role in the occupation administration. According to Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-installed governor of occupied Kherson, Leontiev died in hospital after being wounded in the attack on October 1, 2025. The ‘Baba Yaga’ drone is known for night operations, capable of carrying 20–40 kg of explosives and striking targets up to 20 km away, even under electronic warfare conditions.
